Rory Burns Brightly as OFFC storm to 8-0 win

Transatlantic relationship expert Rory Burns fire’d the Old Felstedian Football Club 1-0 up against a Felsted School select XI with a whipping 30-yard free-kick on Sunday morning. Mr Mann, sporting his slim fit shirt, has claimed the assist for Atkinson’s first – curling a left-footed effort on the edge of the box into the top corner to make it 2-0 to OFFC. Couples Come Dine with Me Champion Scott Forbes’ youthful outfit entered half time 3-0 down after James Smith slipped Rory Burns through for his second of the game, scorching another effort into the bottom right hand corner.

OFFC welcomed debutants Atkinson, Begley x 2, Foley, Johnson, Mann, and Williams. There were no more nervous parents than Mr Williams, seeing his son Oli’s exuberance as he scythed down a School player to extinguish a dangerous attack – and was first to suggest Oli joins the OFFC Indoor Development Programme to practice his throw-ins.

Ignited by his brother’s performance, Freddie had kept the School strike-force at bay, with Smith and Atkinson dousing further attacks. A Burns cross was ‘kept alive’ by Ollie Begley who laid off Steve to blaze his effort into the bottom left-hand corner to make it 4-0 to OFFC. Foley and Atkinson added to the scoreline before Rory bagged his hat-trick, an own goal in the dying embers of the game saw the Old Boys emerge as 8-0 winners.

Rory claims MOTM with a hat-trick and two assists, OFFC would like to thank Scott for refereeing the drizzly affair, BJB for the photos and the grounds staff for preparing the pitch.

OFFC have games with Bishops Stortford, Haileybury and Kimbolton Old Boys in the pipeline, with the indoor sessions set to re-start in the coming weeks.
